Software Guide was founded in 2002 and published on the 15th of every month. It is the member journal of the Chinese Computer  Federation, supervised by Department of Science and Technology  of Hubei Province and sponsored by the Hubei Academy of Scientific and Technical Information, and is open for domestic and international distribution; International Standard Serial Number: ISSN1672-7800; Domestic Uniform Serial Number: CN42-1671/TP.

Software Guide has grown rapidly in recent years. Establish an editorial committee to gather expert resources; Establishing a special column for featured special issues and inviting high-quality articles; Co organizing national industry top academic conferences such as the "China University Computer Education Conference" for consecutive years; Building a smart publishing and dissemination platform... In 2019, as the only regular publication, it was successfully selected for the Chinese Computer Society (CCF) journal; In 2020, as the only academic journal project approved by the Hubei Provincial Journal Development Support Fund, "Research on the Construction of Technology Journal Cluster Cloud Service Platform"; In 2021, it was awarded the "Science and Technology Innovation Source Project - Excellent Science and Technology Journal" by the Hubei Provincial Association for Science and Technology; In 2022, it was successfully selected as a T3 journal in the "Classification Catalogue of High Quality Scientific and Technological Journals in the Field of Computing" by the China Association for Science and Technology; Selected for the "CACJ China Applied Core Journal" in 2024.

As a computer academic journal that takes the lead in focusing on independent innovation in industrial software, we will continue to pay attention to the development trends of industrial software, regularly publish relevant topic specific issues/topics, and hold the Industrial Software Innovation and Development Forum (ISIDF). Focusing on the core technology research and talent cultivation of industrial software, we aim to build a communication and mutual assistance platform and docking channel for academia and industry, promote the integration of government, industry, academia, and research, and assist in the construction of a "Digital China" and a "Manufacturing Power" for the country.
